Sunday, March 9, 2008 - Shmuel Rosner, Chief U.S. Correspondent for the Israeli daily Haaretz, will speak on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Congregation Beth El, Berkeley, 1301 Oxford Street, Berkeley at 7:30 pm. His topic, The American-Israel Relationship in the Post-Bush Era is timely in this pre-election period.

Although raised and educated in Jerusalem, Rosner is a long-time American history buff. He has written numerous articles about U.S. policy and politics and covered the 2000, 2004 and 2006 American elections for Haaretz and is covering the current presidential campaigns. He frequently briefs the U.S. State Department diplomatic corps and is a guest lecturer at the Army War College. He lectures extensively on Israeli journalism and politics at a number of American campuses and think tanks. In addition he is a frequent guest on Israeli television and radio as an analyst of American policy.

Rosner is also a frequent contributor to the American magazine, Slate and, in addition, reports and writes a daily blog (www.rosnersdomain.com) for Haaretz.

Before becoming a columnist for Haaretz in 1993 Rosner served as a producer and editor of programs on the IDF radio station. He is married and has three children.
